How much is it? Money, Money, Money

You can say: How much is it? or How much does it cost? to ask the price.

A) How much is it?

  •  It's one pound.
  •  It's two pounds.
  • It's a/one hundred pounds.
  • It's two hundred and fifty pounds.
  • It's four thousand nine hundred and eighty-five pounds.

a) How much is the fruit juice?

b) It's 1.34 pounds

How can you say this?

  • It's one pound, thirty four pence.
  • It's one pound, thirty four.
  • It's one, thirty four. (more used)
People use the terms "pound" or "pence" very rarely.

Note that people write the pound symbol
and separate the pounds and the pence with a full stop (.)

But

a) How much is the Dairylea cheese?
b) I't 57 p.

How can you say this?

  • It's fifty seven pee ( much more used)
  • It's fifty seven pence
Penny is used in singular and pence is plural.

Example dialogue:

a) How much is the Leerdamer cheese?
b) It' s  one pound, twelve.

a) How much is the Large Sausage Roll?
b) It is eighty-two pee.

Now try to do the following exercises:

And spice it with some music:
